Dale Jr. Lives Up to Redneck Lifestyle: Has Woods Filled with Abandoned Cars

Written by slanch on .

NASCAR can trace its origins to backwoods moonshiners and bootleggers looking to outrun the police and rivals. Just because Dale Earnhardt Jr. has made millions of dollars on the track and through his team ownership doesn't mean he can't embrace that backwoods history and join in with a classic redneck tradition: abandoned cars scattered throughout your property.

It seems that Earnhardt is a bit of a collector and has over 50-60 cars, mostly from crashes on NASCAR tracks, scattered through the woods at the home he shares with his comely girlfriend Amy. No word yet if any are up on cinder blocks...

Google Maps shows several of the cars visible, with the rest presumably hidden under tree cover from Russian spy satellites.

Among the wrecks on his land (which also features two mini racetracks and a dirt bike track) are Juan Pablo Montoya's wreck and Jimmie Johnson's car that earned a 25-point penalty from this year's Daytona 500.
And what does Dale do with the cars when they arrive on his land? "We get a forklift or a tractor with a forklift or front-end loader and just carry it into the woods and just set it out there somewhere."

Ah, of course...

Jr. is a man of his own.  He does what he want when he wants the way he wants on his own property.  It'a a shame that  America has gotten to the era where we have to live the way someone else wants us to.  If you own your property then live the way you want.  These people come here from other places and do as they please and our Gov. lets them. It's time we stand up for ourselves

@BobbySlaughter Of course he's welcome to do whatever he wants on his land, no one suggested otherwise. Choosing to keep a bunch of rusted out wrecks is lame and boring, but sure whateves.

Stand up for yourselves how? Is there some massive movement of people not letting rednecks be rednecks?
