Theo Epstein's New Home in Chicago is Mere Blocks from Wrigley

Written by slanch on .

Now that he's the head man in charge of the Chicago Cubs, new team president Theo Epstein needed a place to live, preferably close to his new workplace. Well, worry no longer, Theo, his wife Marie, and their little baby boy Jack have a new home in Wrigleyville, a mere .7 miles from the fabled ivy-covered walls at the stadium.

Talk about a nice commute!

The five-bedroom, six bath house has 7,800 square feet, a downstairs patio (with outdoor fireplace) AND a roof deck patio (with ANOTHER outdoor fireplace) and a four car garage. Plenty of room for many new generations of Epsteins.

Purchasing the house for $3.25 million, Theo out-maneuvered (and showed off his quick decision making) Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Sharp who had a contract in on the house that he broke mere days before the Epsteins seemingly outbid him (by about $300K.) Then again, Theo DID sign a 5-year $18.5 contract with the Cubs (after making several million with the Sox—and presumably selling his new home in Brookline, MA) he has plenty of coin to drop on the house, and making it nice.

Looks like he also has plenty of room for me when I come visiting. Call me Theo! Let's be best friends!

I miss you already!
