Who Can Forget Varitek Splitting the Uprights

Boston's Mayor Menino has been firmly entrenched in the job for over 17 years at this point and has presided over many a victory parade in the last decade. You'd think in that time he'd have learned some of the "ionic" players, people like Adam Vinatieri who WON A FUCKING SUPER BOWL with the greatest postseason kick of all time.

But no. That's too much to ask. At Monday's ceremony unveiling the new Bobby Orr statue outside the Garden, Mumbles Menino gave this legendary gaffe.

Varitek wasn't even THERE -- although Tim Wakefield and David Ortiz were on hand to represent the Red Sox.
