Montreal Throws a Looting Riot to Celebrate
Wednesday the Montreal Canadiens completed one more improbable victory in their charmed playoffs existence. Entering the postseason as the 8th seed, the Canadiens have knocked out in back-to-back 7 game series, the number 1 and number 2 seeds in Washington and the reigning champion Penguins. Wow.
Everyone believes Canadians to be mild-mannered and genteel, but when it comes to their hockey, them folks can get wild. After closing out their win, the Canadiens fans streamed into the streets to celebrate. You know what celebrations need? Alcohol. Ad what is one to do when the liquor stores are closed? Why break in loot, of course! And there's no reason to loot if you're not going to do it in uncomfortable shoes, so why not take out a Foot Locker too!
Story old as time.
Ultimately, police with tear gas came in to disperse the crowd. Just think, they Canadiens haven't even WON anything yet, just imagine what's in store for Montreal if the Canadiens pull off the larger upset and win the Cup!
