Bruins Fight But Show No Heart
Last night was the chance the Boston Bruins have been waiting for, the opportunity to take revenge on Pittsburgh's Matt Cooke for his cheap shot on Marc Savard that knocked the Bruins' best offensive play-maker out for the rest of the season. 2 minutes into the game Shawn Thornton took off his gloves and went right after Cooke and it was probably the best possible outcome. Cooke took his beating like a man, which was good.
That was pretty much it though from the Bruins, Cooke skated through the rest of the game really without any other issue; I for one do NOT think the team did enough to protect their own and to show that they have heart. They clearly DON'T and at this point I'd almost rather they don't even make the playoffs because they certainly don't deserve it.
Later in the game, Bruins captain (and one of the best fighters in the league) Zdeno Chara took on Michael Rupp in an attempt to liven up his teammates. After the fight ended and he was headed to the box Chara challenged the rest of his team to show up. They didn't and lost 3-0.
