Lesbians Banned From Church Softball League
Jana Jacobson (not pictured) was looking for a league for her softball team to play some more games in the Memphis area, she learned of a league through the Bellevue Baptist Church and signed up. After registration, paying an entry fee and coming to a league meeting Jacobson was ready to get on the diamond.
Then the church asked her a question, was Jacobson gay?
After she told them that she -- along with many of her teammates -- was gay, the church banned the team from league play. How Christian of them!
Were they surprised? It's WOMEN'S SOFTBALL, probably the woman's sport MOST overrun by gays -- except maybe rugby -- no one should EVER be astonished to find a lesbian playing softball. In fact, it's so common it's more rare to meet a STRAIGHT softball player. Clearly though, people in Memphis aren't as hip to that knowledge.
The church, obviously, has no comment on the incident, after all, it's not like they totally discriminated against someone(s) solely because of their sexual orientation which, last I looked, was ILLEGAL. Nice to see they're following the tenets of Jesus and judging not.
