To honor the games and the people participating in them, The Slanch Report will be bringing you TWICE DAILY the Hot Olympian of the Day. We will bring you every day two otherwise likely unknown-to-you Olympians who, while maybe not quite worthy of a place on the medal stand, certainly are worth being placed on a pedestal for us to enjoy. Celebrate them all on the Hot Olympians page.
French alpine skier Marie Marchand-Arvier, 24, is appearing in her second Olympics, participating in the downhill, super G, and the super combined events. After finishing second to Lindsey Vonn in the World Cup standings, she seemed like a strong medal candidate at the games. Alas, she finished well off the podium, but that's ski racing. A hundredth of a second can easily be the difference between incredible glory and shame.
Off the slopes Marie is a passionate food aficionado, particularly with organic and locally-grown foods, I guess that means our date to Popeye's isn't going to go well...
