Breesus Can Do Anything

On his blog this week Buster Olney mentioned how New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees is an incredibly gifted all-around athlete, excelling at a number of sports, among them, baseball. Back in 2008 Brees stopped by the New Orleans Zephyrs, the AAA affiliate of the Marlins to take some hacks during batting practice. During his session Brees hit 5 home runs, including a particularly towering shot that went into the pool in right field. A 3-sport star in high school who had hopes of playing football, basketball and baseball, Brees concentrated only on football during his career at Purdue. That seems to have worked out pretty well...
