Shockers Have a Ring for Every Finger

shockers-bowlersScoring the elusive turkey Championship, the men's bowling team at Wichita State took home their third straight championship in El Paso on Saturday.

Facing off against Calumet College, the Shockers from WSU kept the pressure on, winning the first match handily (232-154) and then sweeping the final match as well with a 226-177 victory. This is the 10th national title for the program.

"I can't find the words to express what this means," said Wichita State's coach Gordon Vadakin. "It's so hard to win one title and to win three in a row is just crazy. Our guys played well all season, and the last three days have been our days."

Senior John Szczerbinski led the charge as the Shockers' anchor bowler described it thusly: "Going out on top always feels good, but the journey was probably the best thing."

So, they get to make a rule now right? Three wins equal a rule, I suggest college bowling be mandatorily done with everyone in mascot costumes a la Trigger Happy TV.
